Posted Sun Jan 14 16:17:12 PST 2001 by Mary Unger (sd21845@navix.net).
Valley View School, Crete, United States
Materials Required: none
Activity Time: 10-15 minutes
Concepts Taught: Auditory Discrimination

Have students sit in a circle facing each other. Choose one student to be the "detective". The detective goes out of the room until someone is chosen "it". "It" begins to clap hands, snap fingers, etc. Detective stands in the middle of the circle and trys to guess who "it" is. When the detective isn't looking the person who's "it" changes the noise being made (from clapping to snapping, patting knees, etc). Detective has three guesses to catch "it". If "it" is caught, he/she leaves the room and the detective chooses another "it". If the detective catches "it" then "it" leaves and detective chooses another "it".
