I teach developmentally challenged children at an elementary level and find this activity very helpful for increasing their awareness of emotions (theirs and others). I use picture symbols of three faces: happy, sad and mad. Then we sing "Eensy Weensy Spider" using each of the different "emotions" each time we sing it. They love it! I have the children pick the order in which they want to sing the emotions. For sad, we pretend to cry while singing and for mad we stamp our feet and yell a bit. Lots of fun!
