After reading the book Guess Who? by Maragret Miller you may play this guessing game with your students. Show up to 9 different photographs on a bulletin board of people doing various jobs. The teacher will secretly choose one job to spotlight. Students will take turns asking yes/no questions like "Do you wear a uniform?" in order to help them figure out which mystery job is spotlighted. They may not ask questions such as "Are you a nurse?" The teacher will keep track of how many questions it takes for them to guess the mystery job. The more they play this game, the better their questioning skills become. As they get more practice, the students my take turns coming up with the mystery job.
