other, level: Pre-School
Posted Sat Mar 24 16:33:58 PST 2001 by Susan Wormell (susief@midmaine.com).
Winterport Headstart, Winterport, Maine
Materials Required: plastic Easter eggs, basket, counting and color items and questions or the insides of the eggs, East
Activity Time: as long as you want
Concepts Taught: cognitive development

Fill your Easter eggs with counting items, shapes, little Easter items (chicks) erasers, and little mini qestions to accompany the items. I asked the cildren things like... what is your whole name and where do you live and how many boys and girls in our classroom. Each child has the option of asking a friend for help if he or she wants or needs help. They also have the option of choosing not to play, which non of them chose! This was a fun, hands-on activity! I also put stickers in the eggs and they got to keep one if they tried to answer the question. I found that my kids gave this a two thumbs up!
