#2334. Rhythm 7-Up

, level: Elementary
Posted Sun Jun 15 10:34:11 PDT 2008 by Mike Epperly (Mike Epperly).
Materials Required: charts with different rhythms
Activity Time: 20 minutes
Concepts Taught: rhythm

Have some students stand in front of the class with a rhythm chart. All other students put their heads down just like in the regular 7-UP game. The tapper will tap his rhythm on the students shoulder.Teacher calls for heads up. Each of the tappers holds their card in front of them. The students that are tapped identify the tapper (not by name) but by "saying" their rhythm. Later rounds could include the tapped students "saying" the rhythm while the tappers hold their card out of view of the other students. Just another way to play with rhythm!
