LESSON PLAN

REMEMBERING THE PLANETS IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM
The majority of the children love to sing at the elementary level. Through the magical power of music, we can empower children with the knowledge they need to succeed in school. Remembering the names of the nine planets can be difficult, but when it is converted into a song, it becomes fun, and very easy to learn. They will never forget it. Teach it and you will see what I mean!

Concept Taught: Learning the names of the nine planets in our solar system
Materials: Poster board with lyrics written on it.
Activity Time: 15 minutes

Tune: “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”

If you sing this song with me
The nine planets you will meet,
Mercury, Venus & Earth,
Mars & Jupiter, Saturn as well,
Uranus, Neptune & Pluto
Now you know the planets names
Sing this song to all your friends
Let me hear it once again!
