Concepts Taught: measurement

This is a really fun way to give students a concrete idea of just how large dinosaurs really were. During my dinosaur unit, I discuss a different dinosaur each day. We talk about how large the dinosaur was. An example might be the T-Rex was about 50 feet from head to tail. Then I take my students out into the hall. Students take turns placing the strips of paper end to end until we have measured 50 feet. The students are always amazed at how large the dinosaurs really were.
