ACHIEVEMENT OBJECTIVES:Students will identify and compare ways of establishing relationships. MAORI CONTENT/CONTEXT:
Hoa-Friend
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
-Listening skills
-respond sentiviley to the feelings of others
-Demostrate consideration for other people and show qualities such as aroha RESOURCES:
-Photos of teachers(me) friends and new friends
-Hand out sheet to each child to fill in,it has 5 old friends,5 new friends,what makes them special and what makes them different
-paper,red,blue and green crayons
PRIOR KNOWLEDGE:
-Who are your friends?(in class)
-What makes them special and different ?
-How do you make new friends MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
-Establish quietness,children sitting
-observing children(are on task)
-keep sheets of proof that children can establish new relationships
FOCUSSING QUESTIONS:
-Who are your friends in class?
-How do you make new friends?
-What makes your new friend different to your old friend?
-Define friend to students
LESSON SENQUENCE
INTRODUCTION:
-Establish quietness,children sitting on mat
-Show children photos of Teachers(me) friends and new friends
-Prior knowledge question
-Have children fill in hand out sheet
MAIN TEACHING PIONTS:
-Establish friend and new friend in class
-Establish what makes them special
-Children to establish new friends in class
Compare qualities of friend to new friend
FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY:
Have children make hand friendship drawings in groups .
Each colour represent a different person
-red is you(child doing the drawing)
-blue is your new friend
-green is your friend
CONCULSION:
-Ask children to hand in their drawing
-Children to clean class
-Establish quietness,children sitting on mat
-children ready for next lesson
