Materials Required: blank paper, markers, rulers, etc.
Activity Time: 2 - 3 50 minute class periods
Concepts Taught: any related concept

Students will use information about chosen topic to create a newspaper on that topic. The newspaper will have 6 stories with headlines relating to chosen topic, an original title for the paper, contain two advertisements for products of the time and three illustration that each go with a story. The paper will be free from errors in spelling and grammar and be historically correct. I like to use this, since it is so time consuming to complete, as a test grade but it can also be used as more than one daily grade.
