Materials Required: Flashcards with sightwords to be learned
Concepts Taught: Learning sight words

I have had a lot of success with using our new sight words as our classroom "password." I post the flashcard with our new sight word by the classroom door. The children must say the sight word each time they go in and out of the door. They love having a password, and think it is very secretive since it changes every week and none of the other classes know our password. You should hear them whisper "the" each time they go in and out of our room. I am amazed how quickly they pick up each new sight word!
