-Predict by using anticipation guides- Give students a page with 6-10 sentences of true and/or false statements about the book. Say, "To get ready for our reading, I am going to show you some sentences about popcorn, and you have to decide whether you think each sentence is true or not true. Let's read this sentence and then talk about it." Read each sentence and discuss whether they think it's true or false.
