Objectives:

TLW identify the proper clothing they should wear for each season.

Expected Outcomes: The students will identify the correct seasons after looking a picture. The students will identify the proper clothing that they need to wear for the proper season.

Time Frame: 40 minutes

Detailed Outline of Plan:

Introduction:

The students will listen to the Four Seasons song on www.songsforteaching.com. Tell the students that is what they are going to be learning about today!

Body:

• The teacher will ask the students to name the four seasons of the year. She will write the name of each season on the board.

• Each student will receive a graphic organizer that has a box with each of the four seasons on it and a box of crayons.

• The teacher will have a large screen with a computer connected to it. The teacher will begin by showing a Powerpoint presentation of the four seasons. The teacher will also have a variety of clothing in a box.

• The first slide will be a picture of fall. The teacher discuss with the students that the leaves are changing it is chilly outside, and school is starting. . .

• The teacher will have the students draw a picture of fall in the box labeled fall on their graphic organizer.

• Then the teacher will ask a student to come up to the box and choose the appropriate clothing for fall.

• The second slide will be a picture of winter. The teacher will discuss with the class that the leaves have fallen off the trees, it is cold outside, and often times it snows. . .

• The teacher will have the students draw a picture of winter in the box labeled winter on their graphic organizer.

• Then the teacher will ask a student to come up to the box and choose the appropriate clothing for winter.

• The third slide will be a picture of spring. The teacher will discuss that the leaves are staring to grow, the snow is melting, and it is getting warmer outside. . .

• The teacher will have the students draw a picture of spring in the box labeled fall on their graphic organizer.

• Then the teacher will ask a student to come up to the box and choose the appropriate clothing for spring.

• The fourth slide will be a picture of summer. The teacher will discuss with the class how the leaves are back, the weather is hot, and school is out for the summer. . .

• The teacher will have the students draw a picture of summer in the box labeled fall on their graphic organizer.


• Then the teacher will ask a student to come up to the box and choose the appropriate clothing for summer.

• The students will go to their computers.
They will double click on the Word icon to open Microsoft Word.
Then they will click file and then open.
Click on the Pubshare file.
Click on INSYS 400.
Click on the folder Juliana Carr.
Click on the Word document titled __Four Seasons_________.

This is a Word document prepared by the teacher in advance. It has a word bank at the top and four pictures. First the students need to put their name on it. The students need to look at the picture of the season and type the name of it on the line.

When they are finished, the student will print out their paper and give it to the teacher.


Measuring Success:

The students will try to dress the person in the right clothing. The teacher will walk around the room and monitor the students.
