Materials Required: Computer with powerpoint with capabilities of being displayed on a TV monitor
Activity Time: 30-45 Minutes
Concepts Taught: Knowledge of U.S. Symbols

In first grade we study U.S. Symbols for part of our social studies curriculum. Throughout the unit, students learn about the Statue of Liberty, the American Flag, Mount Rushmore, and many others.
I created this powerpoint game show for a culuminating activity for our unit. It is similar to Jeopardy, but students don't have to give the answer in the form of a question. Students can be divided into teams for this game that asks trivia questions about five of the symbols we've studied. The symbols included are: the Statue of Liberty, the White House, Mount Rushmore, the Lincoln Memorial, and the U.S. Capitol.
