Materials Required: ruler, precut construction paper rectangles, computers
Activity Time: half hour, two days
Concepts Taught: Calculating perimeter and area

Before hand, prepare rectangles of construction paper. Use different colors. Select method of grouping students.
Students use a ruler to measure the length and width of the rectangles and place this data into a chart they create. Use a spreadsheet (we used the spreadsheet in Clarisworks) to calculate the area and perimeter of each rectangle.
