Slide 1
Integer Safari Hunt
What will you uncover?

Slide 2
Welcome to the Integer Safari.
Who will be the ultimate hunter?
Rules for the hunt:
1. Copy the survival key onto a blank sheet of paper. You will need this to determine the value of the word(s) you use in order to make it through the safari hunt.
2. Hunters must make clean, precise shots. (You must show all work.)

Slide 3
Safari Survival Key
A = -13 I = -5 Q = 4 Y = 12
B = -12 J = -4 R = 5 Z = 13
C = -11 K = -3 S = 6
D = -10 L = -2 T = 7
E = -9 M = -1 U = 8
F = -8 N = 1 V = 9
G = -7 O = 2 W = 10
H = -6 P = 3 X = 11

Slide 4
Target Practice
- Set in yours sites by trying the following shot. Be sure to make a good, clean, precise shot.
-- What is another name for whole numbers and their opposites?
Integer (What was the value of that shot?)
-5+(-1)+7+(-9)+(-7)+(-9)+5=
-6+7+(-9)+(-7)+(-9)+5=
1+(-9)+(-7)+(-9)+5=
-8+(-7)+(-9)+5=
-15+(-9)+5=
-24+5= -19 (Total Shot Value)

Slide 5
LET THE HUNT BEGIN!!!
Find the value of your first name and compare it to the person on your left. Is your name greater than, less than, or equal to your partner's? Double your shot value.

Slide 6
Integer Addition/Subtraction
Find the absolute value of the following number and subtract it from your total points.
/-45/
Find the absolute value of the following number and add it to your total points.
/36/

Slide 7
Integer Hunt Addition/Subtraction
- Fill in the blank and determine the value of each word.
-- When adding integers with like signs, ______ and take the sign of the largest number.
-- When subtracting integers with unlike signs, ________ and take the sign of the largest number.

Slide 8
Integer Hunt Addition/Subtraction
- Find the value of the last word in the song, "Row Row Your Integers."
- Find the value of the first word of the second verse of "When the Integers go marching home."

Slide 9
Integer Addition/Subtraction
- Solve the following problems. Subtract positive answers from your total. Add negative answers to your total.
12 + (-4) -- (-10) = x
-22 -- (-25) -- 5 = z

Slide 10
Free Shot
- Write the first Halloween word that pops into your head.
Determine it's value.
Turn to the person on your right and compare values. The person with the greatest value will add the points to his/her total. The person with the least value will subtract his/her points from their total.

Slide 11
Integer Multiplication/Division
Find the value of the answers. Multiply your answers by 7 and add to your total points.
-- Negative x Negative =
-- Positive x Negative =

Slide 12
Integer Multiplication/Division
Find the value of the name of the tune that the multiplication/division of integers was sung to.

Slide 13
Integer Multiplication/Division
Solve the following problems. Divide your total points by positive answers. Multiply your points by negative answers.
-- -6 x 12
-- -4 x -3
-- 144 / 12
-- 49 / -7

Slide 14
Free Shot
Find the value of a recent Halloween movie. If it is positive add it to your total points. If it is negative, do nothing.

Slide 15
Order of Operations with Integers
Find the value of the acronym used to remember the rules for order of operations. Decide whether you want to add, subtract, multiply, or divide it with your total points, and complete that operation.

Slide 16
Order of Operations with Integers
Solve the following problem. If the answer is positive add it to your total. If the answer is negative, multiply it by your total. answers. Divide your total points by 2.
-- 120 / (-10) + 10 x (-8) -- (100 -- 68) = s

Slide 17
Coordinate Integers
Unscramble the following vocabulary words and find their value. Add all values to your point totals.
-- inopt
-- raphg oordcnaiet
-- roigin
-- xias x & y
-- doerred iarp

Slide 18
Who is the ultimate hunter?
Determine your final total and compare it with you team mates. Who has the greatest number of points? Who has the least?
Add all point together and determine the teams total. Which team has the greatest number of points? Which has the least?
