Paper Weaving

Materials Needed:
Construction paper with 1” slits cut cross-wise
1” construction paper strips
Glue sticks
Scissors

Skills: Patterning, fine motor

For this center I will demonstrate how to weave the strips of paper through the construction paper “loom”. For an expansion the kids can create their own “looms” with straight or waving slits to create different effects with their weaving. The glue sticks can be used to tack down the ends of the strips to keep the weaving from coming undone.
