#3998. Pattern Center

Mathematics, level: Kindergarten
Posted Sat May 12 13:52:41 PDT 2007 by Jennifer Robbins (kinder.teacher@hotmail.com).
Materials Required: See lesson plan
Activity Time: 10-15 minutes
Concepts Taught: See lesson plan

Pattern Center

Materials Needed:
Pattern grid
Small stickers, such as stars
Small stamps

Skills: Patterning, fine motor

The pattern grids will have an example of a pattern that the kids are to make in the grid. They can also create their own pattern. This center can also be used as an assessment tool. The patterns can be made with small stickers which are great for strengthening fine motor muscles or small stamps. An extension for advanced students is to create their own pattern or to create patterns given only ABC or AAB instead of the example.
