#43. Mini Page Term Paper

Materials Required: Sheet of 17 x 22 white paper; samples of mini pages from newspaper.

For grades 5-7, done individually or in groups, takes three+ weeks depending on whether your requirement is to type the project. My classes get to go to the computer room four days to type.

Objective: Students will research 5 different sources (encyclopedia, newspaper, video, magazine and book) on a single topic Students will condense, organize and present material in the form of a newspaper insert called "Mini Page"

Materials: Sheet of 17 x 22 white paper; samples of mini pages from newspaper.

Procedure:

Bring in sources and have topic approved
Research and write ten small articles on topic
Illustrate the articles
On the "inside" students make up 10 puzzles and games that relate to their topic

Note: Teachers must present note taking, outlines and research skills
Students exchange final pages and do the inside page
