Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

Group 1: Theodore Giesel was his name,
He and Dr Seuss are one
In the same.

Group 2: His mom and dad called him Ted.
He loved to read books before
He went to bed.

Group 1: Seuss was his middle name
And Dr. is what his parents
Wanted him to be.
That is how Dr. Seuss came to be
Known to you and me.

Group 2: When he got older
He took a trip.
He wrote his first story
While traveling on a ship.

Group 1: And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street
Was that book,
He wrote 47 others,
Let's take a look.

Group 2: Walk. Walk. We like to walk.
Walk. Talk. We like to talk.
Hop. Pop. We like to hop.
We like to hop on top of Pop.
Stop. You must not hop on Pop.

Group1: Every Who down in
who-ville
the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any

presents at all!

That Sam I am! That Sam I am!
Group2 I do not like that Sam I am.
Do you like green eggs and ham?

All: Dr Seuss used rhymes in his books
And silly, nonsense words.
These are in all of his books,
And can be heard.
On March 2, we celebrate his birthday
In many special ways.
We hope you enjoyed watching our play.
