Fargo Public Schools, Fargo, ND, USA
Materials Required: Red construction paper, white marshmellows
Activity Time: 15-30 minutes
Concepts Taught: Adding and Substracting

Draw big lips on the red construction paper and laminate ahead of time.
Give each student ten marshmellows. Have them lay out the marshmellows
on the lips as you tell a math story problem such as, "Johnny has four teeth
on the top and four teeth on the bottom. Four plus four equals eight."
Continue with several different problems before letting the students
tell their own stories.
