#66. Julius Caesar

Literature, level: Middle
Posted by Pratt (dpratt@preferred.com).
High School English and Spanish, Elizabethton, TN
Materials Required: Current newspapers, copy of play, (Internet is nice but not required)
Activity Time: 2 weeks
Concepts Taught: Understanding the play, the politics and the supersitions

Students re-write the play using Clinton and Gore as the main characters. They search newspaper articles to assign a part to each of the current characters. Then, they work in groups of six. Each group writes an up-dated version of one act.
Students begin to understand the politics involved.

We also did library research on supersititions. This served as useful background.
