During circle time or any transitional time, ask the children to "put your Detective Hats on".
Using words for the letter of the week you are studing, give one or two clues and end it with "it is a ____".
They love it when they are trying to beat the teacher from the point if they can't guess it.
Example: Working on the letter b for the week: Put your Detective Hats on.
It is yellow and black and makes honey, it is a _________. (bee)
get harder words, too so teacher wins a point.
Example: Another word for braclet is _____ (bangle). They will play this for 20-30 words,
great for introducting new words to them.
