First, your school district does NOT do Four
Blocks. If your district were doing Four Blocks, they would
not be requiring an hour of centers. Centers are not a part
of Four Blocks. Please do not continue to say your district
is a Four Block district.
Next, I would call your 30 minutes of "Shared Reading" the
Guided Reading block and do it the Four Blocks Way. Then I
would incorporate SSR into the "hour of centers" (although I
wouldn't take the full hour. Is this a Reading First
building? If that's the case, then you will not be able to
do any Word Work in this 90-minute period of time. Post
back and we'll provide further suggestions.
