Re: Writing Workshop AND 6 Traits together
Posted by Lori C on 6/28/08

    Hi Stacy!

Our District just adopted 6 + 1 Traits of Writing for this
coming year, but due to budget issues will not provide
professional development for it. I have the book for the
primary grades since I teach 2nd. According to our
building's curriculum coach, you should follow the 6 Steps
of the Writing Process for each of the traits. The steps
are prewriting, drafting, sharing, revising, editing, and
publishing. So you would use the 6 steps for during the
course of the 2-3 weeks of ideas, the 6 steps for the 2-3
weeks of organization, the 6 steps for the 2-3 weeks of
    voice, etc.

Hope that makes sense to you.

    Lori C.
