McAllen ISD has offered ASL (3 different levels) for the last
9 years as a option for the foreign language requirement. The
courses are extremely popular and demanding. McAllen ISD has
a Regional School for the Deaf as well. Most deaf students
are mainstreamed, on sports teams and participate in many
    areas.
