I'd say that most people are not optimistic in general about the new administration but are not particularly worried about their jobs, DoDDS etc. It remains to be seen what he will actually try to do once in office as opposed to what he said to appeal to his base during the election.

Also, we are under the Dept. of Def. not Dept. of Ed. so will be somewhat insulated from some of that. Even so, I would be very surprised if SPED funding gets changed much if at all in. IDEA is firmly entrenched and would take a lot for things to move backwards significantly

As for being first out, that should not be a major concern. Under our current policies once you are off of provisional status after two year they must find you a job somewhere in the world even if your school closes. That could change but much of our current system is based on acts of Congress/labor agreements and is not easily changed.
happyteacher That's encouraging... teachers in the states are TERRIFIED of the lunatic DeVos. We are very worried about changes in education, funding, etc.
