Perhaps, but Tom Sawyer seems to have more that a 9- or 10-year-
old could relate to. In our school district, the advanced English
classes read Tom Sawyer in 7th or 8th grade (can't remember which)
and Huckleberry Finn in 10th grade American Literature.
