It may not be about actual IQ tests, either -- if the district
uses grade-level multiple-choice tests, I expect cram classes
(similar to SAT prep) would help some. I would consider them
potentially unethical, though, as the tests are normed on
children who have not had such classes. I couldn't find anything
that was actually called "IQ Boosting Classes" -- presumably the
name is something else.
Anyone, of course, may score lower than actual ability. That's
easy to do, and may occur for many reasons.
