there's no certain answer to this good question. The best
thoughts would likely come from the AP teacher but beware the
teacher who tells you everything you have to do to get the kids
ready for his class so they can just sit back and assign work.
The purpose of AP classes is to do well on the AP test - why
not get a copy of a prep book for the AP test and see what's
there. You can incorporate what you see there in the prep book
into your curriculum.
If it's not a pre ap class, then the class wouldn't have to be
focused on doing well on the test. Test skills should be a part
of your curriculum - how to take a standardized test but of
course you could leave that to the AP teacher too.
There should be more intensive writing practice I would think
in a pre AP class - AP kids will be expected to be better
writers. No one should be able to complain about doing grammar
in a preAP class either.... in fact, anything you want to do do
and just tell them they 'need it for the test'.
