I have done this unit. If I recall, there are white yarn
(woolen) fibers that are left at the crime scene. The yellow
paper would just let the kids see the fibers more readily. I
wouldn't worry too much about the footprints. They need to
match treads, etc., and the yellow paper will not matter.
The yellow paper should be ok. Have fun! My students LOVED
this unit. Lots of work, but worth it.
