Thought I should give you the reference I was reading. I
found it on a site called Haogie's Gifted Education Page at
http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/reading_levels.htm . Lots of
other rating systems are briefly described, and an interesting
claim about AR is cited, which would probably apply to similar
reading programs: that the only proven benefits are from
increased access to books and to increased reading time. Not
really your question, but have a look if you're interested.
