Re: University of Phoenix![]()

Name goes a long way, but what's in a name? If you're
concerned about image, get out of Phoenix. If you're
job/career doesn't care, neither should you. Some companies
absolutely need to show off their staff and will therefore
hire the top name grads to dangle around like a dad proud of
her daughter. The exact same company within a different
department, say logistics, won't care a lick where you went
to school so long as you're qualified, certified, and pass
the drug test.
I have a B.A. degree from a prestigious university already,
so I do not need a prestigious MBA, for example. (which I'm
shopping for). I already "joined the snob club" with the BA,
so a Phoenix MBA would do me just fine. As a manager with
some hiring authority, I see no problem with Phoenix grads,
but I won't hire them solely because they went to Phoenix or
Duke, etc..I'll hire them for their skills and experience
and how much get along with the teams and contribute to the
company. Hope this helps and good luck to all
