    Hmm. I'm a little confused about what you are sounding off
    about, but if you are interested in autism, you should
    definitely do some research. Look up some websites on the
    web. There are MANY theories, teaching methodologies,
    therapies, opinions, etc.
    Yes, Autism is a spectrum disorder; there are varying levels
    of degrees. More severely autistic persons have a much more
    difficult time functioning without major supports. Persons
    with mild or high functioning autism can indeed go on to lead
    very successful, productive lives; go to college, have a job,
    get married, have children, get a Ph.D (that would be Temple
    Grandin). However, they could also be mentally retarded
    (approx. 2/3 persons with autism are also MR).
    And be careful of ABA, too. While it is definitely beneficial
    and effective for many with autism, it is not for all.
