I have been the supervising teacher for a student teacher over the last six weeks. She showed up dressed very inappropriately for her age and status. She is constantly on her cell phone. She comes late, asks to leave early. What is more, I can't get her to commit to a lesson plan or even give me an outline. I have in the past taught two weeks with the student observing, team taught with student two weeks and then hand off the classes completely to the student teacher, but I honestly can't trust this "child" to handle the management of three different secondary level art classes. I can't reach her degree granting school (Texas Tech) and I can't really figure out what they have taught her about anything. What is more, my district supervisor

Sheree Rensel I was very interested in your story and believed what you said until I read this:

"I'm not even sure she's capable of running a room on her own, even at the elementary level,...."

Even at the elementary level???? WOW That statement says a whole lot about the way you see things. After reading that, you lost me. Good luck....See More

Jennifer I teach elementary. :)

I supervised an art ed university intern last semester. She

will be student teaching soon so this was like the step

before that. Anyway, through the state university I had to

assess her mid-way through the semester and again at the
