I teach elementary K-5. Our principal struggled with the master schedule and made a million revisions. there are 19 total classes that come to art, but I will be teaching an art class 26 times a week - meaning I see some groups twice. For example. We have 4 fifth grade classes; one of which has art twice. They will receive twice as many art lessons as the other 3 5th grade classes. I have to write 12 lesson plans a week instead of 6 (K-5) because this affects every grade level. How what you work around it? What kinds of things might you plan for those second classes? Does anyone else have a crazy schedule like this?

Sarah Cait,

I'm in a very similar predicament this year. I'm teaching art for the first year and it is part-time which means I only teach in the mornings (9:00-11:40 back to back for 40 minute sessions). I have 13 classes total-2 of each grade except for 3 kindergarten classes. My first grade, second grade, and one fourth grade class I will see ...See More
