Re: DO YOU HAVE A PORTFOLIO?
Posted by bhoward on 3/25/08

My portfolios from college are what I've used to this day.
(I'm in my second year of teaching.) Already, I feel the
educational portfolio is out of date, which is depressing,
because I spent HOURS upon hours building that thing and
putting it all together! What I did was make an educational
portfolio, and an artist's portfolio, which has all my
personal art from college and out of college. I built each
of these in a PowerPoint presentation, so that I would
always have a disc handy to hand them, and then the night
before my first interview I freaked, realizing that if they
    weren't prepared for a digital portfolio I wouldn't have
anything to share with them. So, I printed each portfolio
out (and made two trips to Walmart in the process buying
more printer ink and paper!). I put each page in a sleeve
protector and in a nice binder with my cover page on front.
Now I can just grab those when an interview comes up and run
with them. I don't worry about updating the educational one
so much because I still, to this day, have not had a single
interviewer even open it up. The artist portfolio, however,
has gotten a lot of use. I hope that helps!
