    does anyone even care about an artists portfolio? i mean, there
    seems to be an indifference on the part of public schools to the
    artworld. you're measured for jobs based on your teachiing ability
    rather than your artistic skills. these skills may be neat to look
    at, but i suspect most principles dont really care when theyre
    hiring you, because theres so many more immediate factors for them
    to consider in filling a post.

    i would imagine in more competitive situations a portfolio of your
    own artwork would matter more.

    are these accurate assumptions?
