Great suggestions! I used to say, take one giant step away from the
art teacher! outside. They know I joke with them a lot, but for some
it might be the only hug they get all day... but you can also say you
are trying to not get sick.
For kids who envy, first of all don't let them get to you. they only
say what is on the top of their head. I say things like, I know! It
is so cool. Just wait until youget to do it! Or if they see something
they didn't do in a younger grade, and NO FAIR, etc. I tell them I
can't stand to do the exact same thing over and over. So they will be
doing somethings that other kids won't do next year. Whatever.
It does help if you have raised your own set of children, as they say
the same things. YOu find out it is a kid thing, nothing personal.
And you have a whole "nuther set of issues in HS/MS.....
You can't please all of the people all of the time!
