are you putting everyone's up there or only ones who have
    turned in a permission slip?

i sent out permission slips to the whole school at the
beginning of the year and was really surprised how many i got
back. for each of my classes, i used the light pro to do a
brief explanation of what the site was, how it worked, and
emphasized that it was a great way to share artwork with
family members who lived far away, a great way to build an
online portfolio, etc., etc., but that there was absolutely
no cost to them at all unless they chose to buy something. i
really tried to sell it, explaining the fan club and the
guestbook. and it paid off, apparently, because of all the
    permission slips i received.

that said, i received fewer permission slips back from 5th
grade than any other grade. maybe 3-7 per class on average.
where in 1st grade, for example, i have almost 100% in every
class. i get renewed interest from some kids when i
photograph artsonia kids' work in class (before they take it
home) and have gotten further permission slips that way, too.
i'm guessing that maybe the 5th graders don't see artsonia
to be as cool as some of the younger kids. frankly, that's
okay with me. if they don't want to participate, i'm not
going to pressure them. less work for me! (which i don't
    mind doing, btw!)
