Just have them do the glue lines at the end of the period. You
could try a hair dryer, but not sure how that would effect the
glue- cracking maybe? Plan a project that maybe is finishing
something else up and then start this and have the glue part at
the end. If they are drawing something first that will actually
take most of the period, just stress to kids that they have to
glue by the end of the period- that part cannot be finished up
next time.
Also, just a side note... I put black paint into my glue and had
students trace a drawing on white paper. We then used watercolor
to finish it. A great way to get kids use to watercolor without
having "muddy" colors. Great results!
