    Yes, there is a teacher shortage in Arizona. I live in Tempe,
    Arizona. The district I am looking at to be hired on begins at
    $40,000 for masters level (52 class units) ground level sped
    positions.

    I was just talking to one of the staff from the Dept of Education in
    Arizona. They have to look out of state for hiring more sped staff
    because of the shortage here. Because of the shortage, they are also
    more open to negotiate salary with masters level sped teachers.
