I have no teaching experience except for as a student teacher. I am currently looking for a job and found where a system in my area was hiring summer school teachers. I applied and have had a very promising phone call. Now, I am nervous! I think this is totally different than any classroom experience I have ever had and was wondering if anyone had any advice. How does summer school work? Is there really any chance of me getting this job with no teaching experience? How do you "teach" in summer school? The administrator mentioned that it would be a possibility to have students in two different subjects in the same class. For example, teaching World History and US History at the same time. How does a teacher handle this situation? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated! I'm sure there are other questions I have not even thought of, so please give me whatever advice you can! Thanks a million!
