Posted by Anthony Newby on 5/16/08 Well I have accepted that my school is one huge contradiction. We are told one thing and then a few weeks later the opposite and sometimes back to the original plan again. Some of the lead teachers told me recently that they felt very sorry for me, cause its as if the rug has been pulled from underneath me. They said back in the old days I would have been strategically placed among strong teachers to support me in my first year and if i had any problems with students I could simply send them down the hall a few steps away to be dealt with by the lead teacher. They said I would have really loved it. I thought wow so schools like that actually exist as compared to the quagmire I signed up to. They have often told me how in the old days the school actually sent teachers to long distance seminars and training and paid overtime if a teacher did a special event. I hope my next school can be more like that. Anyway as some of you may know I got written up earlier this year. Now this week I discover that I had a favorable in class review months ago. Huh? Well I cannot complain about the favorable review it came at a good time. I wasn't even expecting to get a review and certainly not anything remotely positive. This almost makes me feel like staying on a few more years ....nah!!!! So hopefully I can use my review in the old teaching portfolio as I look for jobs in the future.
