Jennifer,
You sound very sweet.
The advice given to you has been good, but I really dont think any of
this would be necessary.
Sounds to me all you need to do is be firm with the teacher and say
no.
Dont offer any explanation. Sometimes when we start explaining
ourselves we say too much, and that gives the other person an 'in' to
turn you around.
They cant argue with a firm 'no'.
You gain confidence in yourself as you get older, this is one of
those things you learn along the way.
Just say no,politely of course, and then there is nothing else to say.
