I find posting rules in a high school classroom earns you
student disdain - it's a very elementary school thing to do.
Tell them your expectations - treat them like young adults
    rather than children.

Give reasons for your expectations - make sure they're
reasonable. And be sure to live up yourself to your
expectations - if you want them to treat you and the other
students with respectful regard, be sure you're modeling that
for them - watching your temper, biting back all disdainful
remarks that rise easily to our tongues when we're teaching
    'ubercool' high schoolers.
