Posted by Congrats on 8/07/08 BE CONFIDENT. (Even if your scared outta your mind don’t let em see you sweat) Feet planted firmly on the ground. Eye contact to each person in the interview committee. Don’t just stare at one person. Loud and clear voice. Firm handshake to all the interview members. Shake their hand at the beginning and end of the interview. Thank them for allowing you to be there. Emphasize your strengths. Don’t mention your lack of experience ect unless asked about it. Then tell them about your strengths...leadership experience "At school I led the____ club" or "I volunteered at _______" or "My presentation at school on_______ exhibits my ____ skills" Talk about your love for your subject. Have questions ready for the committee about the school. Look on their website. Some common questions are "What opportunities do you have for new teachers to become involved in extracurricular activities?" "Will I have a mentor who teaches the same subject as me?" Try your best and be happy with that. My first interview I bombed... The second one I made it to the top two. The third I got the job...
