Re: SHOULD I SHOW GRAPHIC MATERIAL TO HIGH SCHOOLERS?

I'd like to offer an alternative that could be just as powerful
(if not more so) as the graphic image you have described. Do a
read aloud of the "children's" book, Faithful Elephants by Yukio
Tsuchiya, it's a very moving story about the starvation of three
elephants at the Tokyo zoo during WWII. This book illustrates
another facet of the costs of war and can also be used to talk
about the use of propaganda by governments during times of war.
