Re: SHOULD I SHOW GRAPHIC MATERIAL --Yes, do it, Anthony!

I don't think I've been b____ing at all, but if you think so
you should listen in to some of the secret teacher
conversations at my school which I do not take part in. I have
definitely vented a few times here in the past and I believe
with reason and for my own sanity. I certainly didnt have to
re-up for another year, your right. It wasn't for lack of
trying to go elsewhere ( a common complaint at my school).
However, I decided in the end to stay and make the best of it
and see how I could apply what I learned and if I could learn
more. I also wanted to see if I could give more and do more for
the kids at my school before I left. Will I sign up for more
years at the same school? Probably not. Will I continue
teaching? Very Likely , but at a different grade level (
elementary, middle or college). Anyway, I haven't even posted
on this board in a month, so I don't know what all this has to
do with my question to begin with.
Again, I'm merely attempting to get my kids fired up to express
themselves through issues they care about. I remember when I
was a kid I saw far worst at school, but these are very
different and politically correct times. I defenitely have
considered all the replies everyone offered and I thank you for
them. I think I left out most of the questionable images from
my slide presentation and I am going to show it to at least one
supervisor. It's not my intent to traumatize anyone. While I
can't explain all the images in depth it is my hope that the
students will engage in their own research of the topics and
fact finding trek. This unit relates to art as part of history
and art as part of personal expression. I thought it would be
a profound project idea and something different considering
the upcoming election.
