Trduging feels like trudging to the kids as well as to you.
Jazzed up lessons usually cut down on classroom management
and what's trudged through usually isn't learned well. We
don't learn all that well when we're constantly trudging.
There are ways to jazz up lessons even without doing gobs of
research or gathering material - watch performers perform.
Watch how they command the attention of an audience. Listen
to good storytellers and borrow from them. If you have a
sunny personality, let it shine. Vary your tone of voice.
Change things up. Think out of the box. Be creative.
Hmm, maybe it is easier to do research and gather material.
Any money you can tap into? www.brainpop.com - kids love it
but it costs money but it can be shared among teachers. Any
access to computers? mathfacts. com and a million other math
fact sites that kids like. Any topic that pops into your head
punch into google alongside of words like 'lessons'
or 'curriculum' or 'teaching ideas'.
