NO school is the right school for every teacher. While some
of the same issues can present at any school, you can feel
them much more at some schools than others.
It's November - you have some time even if you'd decide to
make this year your last year. Is it impossible to switch
schools?
Every job does indeed have it variables over which one has no
control on the front end. Doesn't mean you can't impact those
same things on the back end, no pun intended.
But that's easier at some schools than it is at others. I'd
disagree you have no control over the hallway, the lunchroom
etc. but your school may be out of control.
And you may be teaching at the wrong level - maybe
elementary - 5th or those elementary schools that still run
to 6th would be more your cup of tea. There is much more
control in elementary.
Can you get a year's maternity leave? That would give you
time to think and look around at other schools while taking
care of your baby.
Congratulations on the baby!
